BETH BANCROFT SPEECH THERAPY
Direct Speech Therapy
One on one evaluations and speech sessions
I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with five years of experience supporting children and families in the public school setting. I have extensive experience helping children improve their articulation, language, and early communication skills, particularly during the preschool and elementary years.
As both an SLP and a parent, I understand the importance of supporting communication in everyday life. I strongly value parent participation and collaboration, and I am committed to providing families with practical tools and strategies that help children practice and generalize their skills beyond our therapy sessions.
Areas of Expertise:
Articulation & Phonological Disorders
I support children with speech sound disorders, including articulation difficulties and phonological disorders that impact multiple speech sounds. Therapy is individualized to help children improve intelligibility, build confidence, and generalize skills into everyday communication.
Early Language Development
I work with preschool and school-age children to strengthen receptive and expressive language skills, including vocabulary, following directions, grammar, narrative language, and social communication.
AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)
I have experience supporting children who use AAC systems, including Proloquo2Go and LAMP Words for Life. I help families and teams implement AAC effectively while supporting language development across settings. I also have experience assisting families through the process of obtaining AAC device funding and advocating for communication supports.
Functional Communication & Regulation
Communication and regulation are deeply connected. I support children who experience challenges with emotional regulation, frustration, and behavioral communication by helping them develop effective ways to express their wants, needs, thoughts, and feelings. My approach focuses on teaching functional communication skills that reduce barriers to participation and connection.
Gestalt Language Processing
I have experience supporting Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs), children who naturally acquire language through larger chunks or "scripts" rather than single words. Therapy focuses on honoring a child's natural language development style while helping them build flexible, self-generated language over time. I often incorporate meaningful scripts and modeled language to support communication growth.
Caregiver Coaching & Collaboration
Parent involvement is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. I work closely with families to provide practical strategies, coaching, and support that help children practice and generalize their communication skills beyond our therapy sessions.

Every child progresses at a different rate. Progress depends on many factors, including your child's diagnosis, prognosis (their expected potential for improvement), participation during therapy sessions, consistency of attendance, and opportunities to practice skills outside of therapy.
Children typically make the most progress when families actively support carryover of skills during everyday routines, play, and daily activities. Speech therapy is a team effort, and parent involvement can make a significant difference in outcomes.
